Add & Manage FAQ Categories

This article will show you how to create and manage a category in the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) module.

Create an FAQ Category

Instructions

1. Sign in to your site
2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select FAQs
   
   
3. Select Add Category
   
4. Fill in the information fields
   
   
   • Category Name: Create a category name
   • Start Display: Enter a display date to auto-publish the category. A blank date will immediately publish the category.
   • End Display: Enter an end display date to auto-unpublish. A blank date will leave the category published indefinitely.
   • Number to Display: Maximum number of FAQs that display on a related page
   • Show Archives: Leave as the default
   • Template: Choose a template you would like for your category
   • Permissions: Set permissions at the category level
     • View: May view the live side only
     • Author: Submit new items, modify/delete unpublished items
     • Publisher: Publish new items, modify/delete unpublished items, modify/unpublish published items, and publish/reject submitted items
     • Owner: Publish new items, modify/delete unpublished items, modify/unpublish published items, publish/reject submitted items, create/modify categories and assign category permissions
5. Scroll to the top and select Save or Save and Publish

Modify a Category

1. Sign in to your site
2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select FAQs
   
   
3. Select Choose an Action and then Properties next to your desired category
   
4. Modify the fields
   
5. Click Save

Delete an FAQ Category

Important Notes

• You cannot delete a category that has questions in it. 

Instructions

1. Sign in to your site
2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select FAQs
   
   
3. Find the category you would like to delete, select Choose an Action, and then Unpublish
   
4. Scroll down to the Unpublished Categories section, select Choose an Action, and then Delete
   
5. Select OK on the dialog box that says, Are you sure you want to delete this category?
