This article is a collection of tools and resources to help keep your website in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Levels A and AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.
Content Development Tips for Compliance and Usability
The attached CivicEngage Central Guide to Accessible Content (PDF) resource will provide information on how you can edit your content and use modules in a way to ensure that your content is accessible.
Color Contrast
WCAG 2.0 level AA requires a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. To ensure compliance, check the font against background color values. Learn more about contrast and color accessibility.
Third-Party Scans
CivicPlus exclusively partners with AudioEye. If you have any questions about AudioEye, please contact your Customer Success Manager. If you do not know who your Customer Success Manager is, contact Support.
Zero Errors
There are no error-free sites. It is a fluid measurement and different scan tools produce different results—there is a lot that is open to interpretation. The most important thing you can do is to show an ongoing good-faith effort to keep your content compliant.
