Learn how to identify and troubleshoot some of the reasons why you can't add a Redirect to your domain.
Reserved URLs
If you are not able to add a redirect, you may get a prompt that says the URL is reserved.
This occurs when part of the From URL is linked to a redirect that is already active on your website and cannot be changed. This is most often related to a feature (such as /calendar) or a hard-coded page (such as accessibility). These already have set destinations and cannot be used.
Overwriting
You may receive an error about a From URL not being able to add a redirect due to the risk of overwriting.
This means that the From URL already exists within the system. This can be under either All Sites or under a specific URL.

I modified a redirect and the changes I made are not reflected on the live website. This happened before, and I had to seek help to make the redirect work on the live website. I believe this situation should be added to this Article under "cannot add a redirect" and let the users know that it could be related to frequency of caching or indexing. The help article should direct people how to get help if they create or revise a redirect and the content doesn't show up on the website.
