The CivicPlus Search functions similarly to the major search engines found on the internet. This allows the end-user to use skills they already possess to quickly and easily find items they need on your CivicPlus website.
Functions
The following functions are available on the back-end of your site:
- View searches by site users on your website by search terms and frequency for specific date ranges.
- Export your search results into a comma-delimited file (a file that separates the columns by commas), which is viewable with Notepad or Microsoft Excel
Important Notes
- A deleted document will stop showing in the search results around 24 hours after deletion. If it has not yet disappeared, then you should submit a Support ticket so they can help you re-crawl your site.
- The Search module does not search 3rd party websites or databases.

I deleted a document from the doc center; how long before it stops showing in the search results?
Hi Caryn,
I apologize for the delayed response!

Thanks Jackson! How about MP3's? They don't seem to be showing up in our search
Hi Caryn,
According to our article Update Results on Site Search:
"Every 24 hours, our CMS runs a Crawler Services that re-crawls and re-indexes new information on the site. If you Publish, Modify, or Remove an item on the site, it will still appear on the Site Search until this service runs again." All items, regardless of type, should be indexed within that 24 hours. If your MP3 isn't showing up within a day or two within initial upload, please contact Support so that they can help you more thoroughly.
Thank you!
