You can create a search box that is limited to only web pages. This is an advanced feature and requires a basic JavaScript function that passes the query string in the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of the search page. This limits the search function.
Instructions
- Log in to your website solution
Note: Website preferences may change what this looks like, but adding "/admin" to your website's URL will take you to a sign-in screen for administrative login - Navigate to your desired page
- Drag and drop a Custom HTML Widget onto your page
- Build and test the query string that returns the desired results:
Note: An example of a custom search query script created using Google Chrome might look like:
<script async="" src="https://cse.google.com/cse.js?cx=009386001112898947756:ubyvvsvply8"></script>
For more information about obtaining a custom search query script, please contact your Customer Success Manager. - Click the Done button:
- Click one of the Save options buttons in the Live Edit action bar. Options may include:
- Save: Saves the current changes
-
Save and Submit: Saves the current changes and sends to a publisher for approval
Note: This option is only available to authors - Save as Copy: Saves the current changes you have made as a distinct version of the page without affecting the previous version without your changes
-
Save and Publish: Saves the page with your changes, overwriting the previous version
Note: This option is not available to authors
