CivicPlus® provides an Accessibility Checker for the content located in the Editor, FAQs, and News Flash widgets to ensure it complies with the ADA.
Important Notes
- CivicPlus works toward WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility standards and our websites are highly compliant when they go live. However, ongoing ADA compliance and maintenance is the customer's responsibility.
- Please contact your Customer Success Manager for information regarding our AudioEye partnership.
- If you want the tool to check automatically every time, contact the CivicPlus Support team to turn that functionality on.
Instructions

Sign in to your Web Central website using your CivicPlus Single Sign-On account:
Note: You can also sign in using a third-party email. - Navigate to the desired page
- Locate the Live Edit feature:
- Click the Live Edit feature to enable it:
- Select the Widgets tab from the Live Edit pane:
Note: The Live Edit pane can be anchored on the left, right, or bottom of the page by using the change orientation button. - Select the Editor widget:

Drag the Editor widget and drop it onto the page:
- Add content to the Editor widget
- Click the Done Editing button (green box with a checkmark) to exit the Editor widget:
- An ADA scan message should appear automatically with the results of the accessibility scan:
- If the pop-up message does not display automatically, click on the editor and select the Accessibility Checker button:
- If the pop-up message does not display automatically, click on the editor and select the Accessibility Checker button:
- If needed, continue to edit the page
- Click the Save button in the upper-right corner of the page:
