Sometimes, the images in an email message may not display for a variety of reasons. The reasons may vary depending on the email client and the configuration of your settings. Even when the images do not display, they still exist somewhere on the platform, but your configuration settings prevent these images from properly displaying.
The three most common reasons for the error are:
- You are blocking external content in your configuration (email client, machine, or network block)
- Your SecureTemp folder is "full"
- You have Word's picture placeholder setting enabled in your email client
For the most part, the most common reason is that images or external content are being blocked, so the first thing to check is to see if the email client is enabled to display images.
This article will show you how to verify image display in your email client.

Internet Explorer has a security setting that, when enabled, prevents Outlook from displaying images with a secure URL. Images URLs that start with HTTP will display, but not URLs that start with HTTPS.
If Outlook 2007, 2010, or 2013 displays some - but not all - images, you may need to change the setting in your Internet Explorer web browser or desktop software.

- Select the Advanced tab
- Scroll down to the Security Settings list, then uncheck the Do not save encrypted pages to disk option
