Overview
This article will show you how to make a zap.
Important Note
- Each Zap has one app as the Trigger, where your information comes from and which causes one or more Actions in other apps, where your data gets sent automatically.
Instructions
- Navigate to Zapier
- Select Make a Zap
- Search for and select CivicEngage
- Select the Trigger Event that you want to use (ex. Alert Center, NewsFlash, or Calendar)
- Click Continue
- Select the Account you want to use
- Click Continue
- Select the category you would like to connect
- Click Continue
- Click Test trigger to confirm the right account is selected and the trigger is set up correctly
- Once your screen says the test was successful, click Continue
- Select the App that you want to connect to (for instance, you might want to search for and select Google Calendar, if you want to connect a Google account to a CivicEngage account)
- Select the Action Event you want to take on that app
- Note: The action events available will differ per app.
- Click Continue
- Select your account
- Note: This could be different per app that you are connecting to.
- Note: You might be prompted for Zapier to have access to that account; select Allow.
- Once connected to an account, select Continue
- You will be prompted to fill in the fields you want to connect between apps
- This is explaining to Zapier which fields you want to match (Ex. CivicEngage Description matches to Google Calendar Summary)
- Note: This will be different for each app.
- Once you have filled out all the fields, select Continue
- You will see a summary of all fields that will be pulled/pushed from one app to another; select Test & Continue
- You will see a screen saying the Test was Successful
- Select Turn on Zap
- Your Zap will now be turned on, Name your Zap in the top left corner
- Note: New information is retrieved every 15 minutes; it might take that long to populate information between apps.
