This article will show you how to Export results in the History Log, which will download a copy of your desired results to your computer.
Instructions
- Sign in to your website solution
- Navigate to the History Log module:
- Click the Modules dropdown menu
- Click the Site Tools tab
- Select History Log
- If desired, apply filters to narrow your results:
Note: Review the Filter History Log Results article for more information on the filter options. - Click the Export button:
- The TXT file downloads automatically in Google Chrome:
- If another web browser is used, the download process may look different
Note: The TXT file is named HistoryLog.txt.

- Navigate to the location the file is saved to on your computer
- Open the file
Note: By default, the TXT opens in Notepad's text editor. If you do not have Notepad, you can import the TXT file to Microsoft Excel to open the file. - View the results:
- Module Name: The module the entry belongs to
- Title/Item: The name of the item
- Date Modified: The date and time the action happened
- Modified By: The name of the person who performed the action
- Action: The action taken
- Parent ID Type: The location where the action took place
- Parent ID Number: The numerical ID of the location where the action took place
- Item ID Type: The type of item that was acted upon, such as a document, question, folder, or category
