Add a Phone Hyperlink

This article will show you how to add a phone number hyperlink to a page.

Instructions

1. Log in to your Municipal Websites Central (formerly CivicEngage Central) website
   
   Note: Website preferences may change what this looks like, but adding "/admin" to your website's URL (Uniform Resource Locator) will take you to a sign-in screen for administrative login
2. Navigate to your page
3. Ensure that the Live Edit state is toggled to ON:
   
4. Access an existing Editor widget or add an Editor widget to your page, if necessary
5. In the Editor widget, type the phone number you would like to link:
   
6. Highlight the number and click the Insert Link button in the Editor widget's toolbar:
   
7. In the Insert Link dialog box, type tel: and your phone number without dashes or parentheses in the URL field:
   
8. Click the Insert button:
   
9. To finish, click the Done Editing button:
   
10. Click a Save option:
    
    
    • Save: This saves the current changes to the page without publishing them
    • Save and Publish: This saves the current changes and publishes them on the front end
      Note: This option only appears for users with appropriate access
    • Save as Copy: This saves the current changes as a distinct page version without changing the currently published version of the page
